MANILA, Philippines – Iniimbestigahan ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) ang isang ulat tungkol sa isang umano’y nagpapanggap na kinatawan nito, at nag-aalok sa mga mambabatas na sangkot sa flood control scandal na tanggalin ang kanilang mga pangalan mula sa mga referral ng kaso sa ombudsman, kapalit ng hindi bababa sa P100 milyon.
“We want to verify that,” ayon kay ICI Executive Director Brian Keith Hosaka nang tanungin sa press briefing noong Biyernes tungkol sa kuwento kung saan may isang congressman umano na nabiktima ng umano’y scammer.
Sinabi ni Hosaka na sakaling makatanggap sila ng pormal na ulat patungkol sa umano’y scam, agad silang gagawa ng kinakailangang imbestigasyon.
“If you have any verified information, if the victim of such a supposed scam comes to us, then we will investigate that matter immediately,” aniya.
“As far as the ICI is concerned, that is a very important matter that we should look into,” saad niya. “Because we don’t allow ICI to be used for such illegal activities, because definitely, it shouldn’t be like that, because we’re here to investigate. We’re here to make those responsible accountable.”
Binigyang-diin din ni Hosaka na hindi kinukunsinti ng ICI ang mga ilegal na aktibidad, tulad ng scamming.
“First of all, there are only a few of us here. But definitely, that’s not a practice of the ICI,” ani Hosaka.
“That’s why we want to investigate that immediately. Because if there is truth to it, then we will have to make those responsible accountable. Because definitely, that’s not the practice of the ICI. We don’t do that,” ani pa niya. RNT/MND
