MANILA, Philippines – Tututulan ng Senado ang reenactment sa 2026 ng kontrobersyal na 2025 national budget, na kabilang ang mga umano’y insertions, ayon kay Senador Panfilo Lacson nitong Sabado, Nobyembre 22.
Ayon sa Senate President Pro Tempore, nais masiguro ng Senado ang transparency sa deliberasyon ng budget bill kabilang ang livestreaming ng bicameral conference committee.
“Passing the 2026 budget bill is important. Without it, we may have a reenacted budget, and we will not allow that,” ani Lacson sa panayam sa radyo.
“If the 2025 budget is reenacted, we will see large lump sum appropriations coming from a 2025 budget that has had so many problems.”
Ipinunto ni Lacson na kailangang i-adjust ng Senado ang iskedyul ng mga deliberasyon kasunod ng mga isyu.
“Many anomalies were bared in the deliberation of the NIA’s budget so they need to return. These are unforeseen circumstances,” aniya.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ni Lacson na ang mga repormang kanilang tinanggap kabilang ang livestreaming ng bicameral conference committee at ang hindi pagpayag sa “alien” items ay magpapabilis sa proseso dahil maiiwasan nito ang mga insertion sa panukala.
“The best reform introduced so far is that the bicam will not allow the insertion of any item that is not in the Senate or House version. This way, we will simplify and even possibly shorten the proceedings as there will be no more insertions or dealings,” ani Lacson. RNT/JGC
