MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan si Senador Panfilo “Ping”Lacson nitong Sabado, Nobyembre 22 na ang galit ng publiko sa mga iregularidad ng pamahalaan “should not lessen” ngunit hinimok na huwag maging bayolente sa kabila ng mga nangyayari.
Sa kabila ng pag-isyu ng arrest warrants laban kay ex-Rep. Elizaldy Co at iba pa dahil sa maanomalyang flood control projects, sinabi ng Senate President Pro Tempore na dapat pa ring i-pressure ng publiko ang mga awtoridad para panagutin ang mas marami pang sangkot sa korapsyon.
“I don’t want public outrage to lessen, so long as people remain non-violent. If public anger diminishes, government might slacken their efforts,” sinabi ni Lacson.
“As of now, they are working because of the pressure from our people. But this is so long as the outrage does not turn violent, like the Sept. 21 protest where some protesters damaged some traffic lights… No matter how many, no matter how long it takes, get to the bottom to achieve the logical conclusion.”
Aniya, ang aksyon ng pamahalaan nitong Biyernes ay sapat na patunay para kainin ng mga kritiko ang kanilang mga sinabi na si Co ay “untouchable.”
“He has to ride a plane and pass through immigration, so he can be tracked. He just cannot be arrested as of now because he is not yet on the Interpol’s red notice list since they have no copy of his arrest warrant. Still, he’s on their radar,” aniya.
Sa oras na maaresto si Co at mapauwi sa Pilipinas, may tsansang iharap nila ito sa Blue Ribbon Committee.
Kung makararating na sa Sandiganbayan ang kaso ni Co, ang komite naman ay gagawa ng paraan upang huwag mabangga ang sub judice principle, o pagtalakay sa mga merito ng kaso laban kay Co sa anti-graft court. RNT/JGC
