MANILA, Philippines – Nilusob at hinalughog ng mga ahente ng National Bureau of Investigation ang condominium unit ni dating Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co sa Bonifacio Global City sa Taguig nitong Huwebes ng gabi, Disyembre 11.
Isinilbi ng mga awtoridad ang search warrant kaugnay sa mga reklamong paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
Sa bisa ng search warrant, maaaring pwersahang buksan ng mga awtoridad ang mga vault sa naturang unit ni Co kasama ang pagkumpiska sa mga cash at mga dokumento.
“Ito pong sa search warrant in the application, there is a mention that there is a need and necessity to see kung anong laman ng vaults na yan at yung laman ng vault na yan, potentially, baka magagamit na ebidensya doon sa ating inimbestiga ng kaso,” pahayag ni NBI spokesperson Palmer Mallari.
“The inventory sheet would include everything that was seized during the implementation. The operatives will be preparing a post-operation report addressed to the director at dyan lang po namin masasabi kung ano yung mga nakakalala,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon sa NBI, ang haba ng panahon ng paghalughog ay depende sa mga ebidensyang makukuha.
Si Co at 16 iba pa ay nahaharap sa kasong malversation at graft sa Sandiganbayan sa P289 milyong substandard road dike project sa Oriental Mindoro.
Nitong Huwebes ay idineklara ng Sandiganbayan si Co bilang “fugitive from justice” at ipinag-utos ang kanselasyon ng kanyang pasaporte sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
“Accused Co resigned instead of complying with the House of Representatives’ order to return to the country; he refused to comply with subpoenas from the ICI, and he did not file a counter-affidavit with the Office of the Ombudsman,” saad sa December 10 resolution ng Sandiganbayan. RNT/JGC
