IT’S just a right timing, badly needed by those seeking for employment opportunities in time with the coming of the new year, at least in the city of Malabon.
The administration of Mayor Jeannie Sandoval in collaboration with the Trabaho party-list launched over the weekend its 1st Mega Job Fair & Skills and Livelihood Training for 2026 wherein over 7, 000 jobs were offered for the residents.
“This is just one priority goal of the local government to bring more opportunities for the residents this new year.”
The activity was held at the Malabon City Square shopping mall where the local government partnered with 40 local and six overseas companies that offered thousands of employment positions primarily designed for the job-seeking Malabuenos, the city chief executive said.
Sandoval administration has been in unison in saying that the conduct of the mega job fair as well as skills and livelihood training was done in time with the coming of the new year to provide employment to residents especially those from the youth sector.
The city executive expressed gratitude to the party-list that partnered with the city government along with the local and overseas companies to choose Malabon and provide employment opportunities for the constituents.
The city’s Public Employment Service Office coordinated with some companies like United Philippine Lines, a local maritime company which offers job opportunities for seafarers.
Other companies that participated during the event looked for would-be employees who will work as brand ambassadors, machine operators, clerks, production workers, engineers, electricians, helpers, customer service representatives, drivers, delivery crews, merchandisers, nurse, encoders and other office or skill-based jobs.
Sandoval said a one-stop-shop where job seekers can apply for documents from the Philippine Statistics Authority, Philhealth, Pag-IBIG, Social Security System, Philippine National Police, Land Transportation Office, Department of Labor and Employment and other government agencies was opened during the same event.
Those who were hired on-the-spot would be able to process their documents for free, regardless if they were first jobseekers or not, the mayor added.
A skills and livelihood training was also held where participants were taught about creating dishwashing liquid, aircon maintenance, and hydrophonics.
The program aims to provide the participants the skills they need to earn money for their daily needs.
