LANAO DEL NORTE, Philippines – Idineklara ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Iligan noong Biyernes ang state of calamity dahil sa pinsalang dulot ng Tropical Depression Basyang.
Inihain ng lokal na pamahalaan ang Resolution No. 26-101 sa isang special session, na magbibigay-daan upang magamit ang calamity funds para sa relief services, tulong sa mga apektadong residente, at pagkukumpuni ng mga nasirang imprastraktura.
“There is a need to declare the City as under the State of Calamity to unlock funds/release the much needed Calamity Fund and to utilize the same for the provision of relief services and assistance to the victims who are in evacuation centers and help rebuild damaged infrastructure,” ayon sa resolusyon.
Samantala, sinabi ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao sa isang public briefing na isinasagawa na ang search and retrieval operations sa Iligan City.
Mayroon ding 13 evacuation centers na kasalukuyang nag-aalaga sa 432 pamilya o mahigit 1,600 indibidwal.
“Nakikipag-ugnayan po kami particularly our regional office o field office rin sa Iligan City dahil mayroon po kaming mga natatanggap na mga request for augmentation support in the form of family food packs, hygiene kits, modular tents,” ani Dumlao. RNT/MND
