MANILA, Philippines – Inaasahan ang magkahalong galaw sa presyo ng produktong petrolyo sa susunod na linggo, ayon sa Department of Energy – Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB).
Ayon kay Assistant Director Rodela Romero, maaaring bumaba ng humigit-kumulang ₱0.45 kada litro ang presyo ng gasolina, habang inaasahang tataas ng ₱0.05 kada litro ang diesel at ₱0.10 kada litro ang kerosene.
Batay ang mga inaasahang adjustment sa apat na araw ng trading sa Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS), hindi kasama ang operating costs at iba pang premiums ng mga oil company.
“During the week of February 16 to 19, 2026, global oil prices were shaped by a combination of geopolitical tensions, supply expectations, inventory movements and market sentiment. But the expected adjustments for next week were heavily influenced by heightened geopolitical risks between US and Iran; and, Russian and Ukraine,” ani Romero.
“US-Iran nuclear negotiations created uncertainty with Pres. Trump warning of possible military action if no deal was reached. Likewise, the Eastern Europe tensions, including a Ukrainian drone strike on a Russian Black Sea port, added concerns about potential supply disruptions,” dagdag niya.
