MANILA, Philippines – Idineklara ng House Committee on Justice na sufficient in grounds ang ikatlo at ikaapat na impeachment complaints laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Kasabay ng pagdedeklara ng sufficiency in grounds ay itutuloy na ng komite ang deliberasyon sa pagtukoy kung may probable cause ang impeachment complaint. Sa stage na ito ay magkakaroon na ng pormal na pagdinig kung saan hihimayin ang mga reklamo at ebidensya.
“Now, we proceed to Step 4, that is the hearing proper. The evidence and witnesses which will be presented by both parties during the hearing proper will be part of our consideration in the determination of probable cause in our Step 5,” paliwanag ni House Justice Committee Chairperson at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro.
Itinakda ng komite ang pagdinig sa March 25, April 14, 22, and 29, 2026.
Sinabi ni Luistro na naka-recess na ang Kamara simula Marso 21, gayunpaman, patuloy ang gagawing pagdinig ng komite sa impeachment case.
“The panel has received authority from the House plenary to continue its work even during the congressional recess from March 21 to May 3, so the Justice Committee will be able to conduct hearing during our break,” ani Luistro.
Samantala, kinumpirma ni Luistro na natanggap ng komite ang apela ni Akbayan Party-list Rep. Chel Diokno na magpalabas ng subpoena duces tecum ang komite para makuha ang mga mahahalagang dokumento para sa impeachment case, kasama dito ang mga bank records.
Gayunpaman, wala pang desisyon ukol dito ang komite.
Una nang hiniling ni Diokno na magpalabas ng subpoena sa mga dokumento gayundin ay i-custody ng komite ang testigo na si Ramil Madriaga. Layon umano nito na matiyak na may haharap na testigo at may mga dokumentong pagbabasehan sa gagawing pagdinig ng komite. Gail Mendoza
