MANILA, Philippines – Handang umasiste ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sa pagtunton sa Filipino na inakusahan ng exploitation ng mga menor de edad sa pamamagitan ng online gaming at social media platforms.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ni PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. na nakahanda ang pwersa ng pulisya na magpaabot ng buong kooperasyon sa Estados Unidos para tugisin si Austin Jan Sy Yatco.
“The Philippine National Police supports all efforts to make the online space safe for everybody,” ani Nartatez.
“In this case, we are fully open to assisting the FBI to ensure that the suspect it has been looking for is tracked down and held accountable in coordination with other government agencies concerned,” dagdag pa niya.
Nag-alok na ng $25,000 pabuya ang FBI sa pagkakaaresto kay Yatco.
Napag-alaman na ang suspek ay tubong San Pedro, Laguna at ipinanganak noong Agosto 1998.
Si Yatco ay wanted sa Estados Unidos sa kaugnayan umano sa isang online group na sangkot sa exploitation mula 2019 hanggang 2021.
Ang grupo umano ay namimilit sa mga menor de edad na lumikha ng child sexual abuse material, at ibinabahagi naman sa online network.
Nag-isyu ng federal arrest warrant laban kay Yatco noong Enero 23 ng US District Court for the Eastern District of New York sa Brooklyn.
Ang suspek ay nahaharap sa kasong sexual exploitation of children, maging sa possession at distribution ng child sexual abuse material.
Ayon sa FBI, ang suspek ay may link sa Plano, Texas, at sa Pilipinas, kung saan pinaniniwalaang posible itong naninirahan.
“At present, we are validating all available intelligence. Our units on the ground are actively coordinating, and monitoring and information gathering continue to determine the suspect’s exact location,” sinabi ni Nartatez. RNT/JGC
