MANILA, Philippines – Sumiklab ang grass at forest fire sa Homonhon Island sa Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
Dahil dito ay kinailangan na mag-deploy ng mga awtoridad ng aerial firefighting operations.
Sa pahayag nitong Lunes, Abril 20, ipinadala ng Philippine Air Force ang isang S-70i Black Hawk helicopter sa apektadong lugar.
Nagsagawa ng precision water drops sa apektadong lugar ang helicopter na mayroong helibucket system.
“Despite sustained operations, the fire has not yet been declared “fire out,” with responders continuing sustained suppression operations on the ground and from the air,” ayon sa PAF.
“The PAF, alongside partner agencies and LGUs, remains actively engaged in efforts to contain and fully extinguish the blaze,” dagdag pa. RNT/JGC
