MANILA, Philippines – Nag-isyu ng flight safety advisory ang Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines kasunod ng pagputok ng Bulkang Mayon.
“The CAAP advises the flying public, airline operators, general aviation operators, and all concerned aviation stakeholders that following the reported eruption of Mayon Volcano at 0343H on May 02, 2026, airspace restrictions have been implemented for flight safety,” ayon sa CAAP.
“Based on NOTAM B1875/26 (replacing B1856/26), aircraft are not allowed to operate from the surface up to 11,000 feet within a 6-kilometer radius from the summit of Mayon Volcano,” saad pa sa abiso.
Sinabi ng CAAP na ipinatutupad ang precautionary measure dahil sa posibleng banta ng volcanic ash, airborne particles, at biglaang volcanic activity, na makakaapekto sa makina ng mga eroplano, navigation systems at overall flight safety.
“All airline operators, pilots, dispatchers, and aviation stakeholders are advised to closely coordinate with Air Traffic Services and monitor official updates before operating in affected areas,” ayon sa ahensya. RNT/JGC
