CIDG naglabas na ng subpoena vs Sen. Bato sa EJK probe

MANILA, Philippines – Naglabas na ng subpoena ang Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) laban kay Senador Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa kaugnay ng umano’y pagkakasangkot at kaalaman nito sa mga extrajudicial killings (EJKs) noong drug war ng administrasyong Duterte.

Sinabi ni Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, inatasan niya si PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. na i-mobilize ang CIDG, PNP Legal Service, at Directorate for Investigation and Detection Management para ipatupad ang subpoena.

Nilinaw niya na ang subpoena ay hindi arrest warrant kundi kautusan para obligahin si Dela Rosa na humarap sa imbestigasyon kaugnay ng EJKs noong siya ay hepe ng PNP at opisyal ng pulisya sa Davao City.

“We are here to clarify a few things. Number one, we do not have a[n] (Interpol) red notice for General dela Rosa… I have no information of a copy, but I’m here to deny all rumors that there is a red notice, and that’s clear,” ani Remulla sa briefing sa Camp Crame.

“However, I have given orders to General Nartatez to resume the investigation regarding his previous actions as the City Director of Davao and Regional Director of Davao Region.”

Ayon kay Remulla, naniniwala ang awtoridad na nasa Pilipinas pa si Dela Rosa, partikular sa Davao region, at naabisuhan na ang mga pulis doon tungkol sa posibleng subpoena.

“We will treat him with all the respect that he deserves. He is a senator, a former chief of the PNP… and I assure you there will be no handcuffs,” dagdag niya.

Sasaklawin ng imbestigasyon ang mga reklamo at rekord kaugnay ng mahigit 6,000 pagkamatay sa drug war operations, kabilang ang umano’y papel ng ilang pulis sa vigilante killings.

Ayon kay PNP Chief Gen. Nartatez, gagamitin din sa imbestigasyon ang report ng House Quad Committee at iba pang reklamo tungkol sa EJKs at pang-aabuso.

“We cannot move forward as a country until there is a reconciliation of the truth of what happened in those years… There are no sacred cows and we are not protecting anyone,” ani Remulla.

Si Dela Rosa, dating PNP chief sa ilalim ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, ay kabilang sa mga opisyal na inuugnay sa imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court (ICC) sa drug war. Hindi na siya dumadalo sa mga sesyon ng Senado at pampublikong aktibidad mula Nobyembre 2025 matapos ang ulat ng posibleng arrest warrant. Santi Celario
