MANILA, Philippines – Ikinokonsidera ng House Prosecution Panel ang pagpresenta sa mga opisyal ng bangko bilang witness sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa Senado.
Ito ang isiniwalat ni Bukidnon Representative Jonathan Keith Flores, na isa sa magiging House prosecutors na hahawak sa articles of impeachment sa umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential funds at unexplained wealth.
“Importante para ma-explain naman or mabigyan ng linaw ang mga transactions that were involved. So that’s one of the siguro key issues doon sa second article [on alleged unexplained wealth],” ani Flores.
Inaasahang magbibigay-liwanag ang mga opisyal ng bangko sa report na ipinasa ng Anti-Money Laundering Council sa reported at covered bank transactions.
Nang tanungin kung ang mga tauhan ay mula sa mga bangko na binanggit sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Justice, dito na tumangging sumagot si Flores.
Samantala, kinumpirma rin ni Flores na ipipresenta ring witness ang Commission on Audit.
“Mostly ‘yun naman, yung nasa lista. Kasi di ba, that was one that was covered also by the Committee on Good Government the previous year, previous Congress investigation. So parang ganoon pa rin yung covered people,” sinabi ni Flores.
Pinag-aaralan pa kung posibleng maging witness din si Ramil Madriaga, na nagsabing siya ay dating aide at bagman ni Duterte.
“They’re still evaluating yung affidavit niya and paano siya siguro ma-link doon sa other witnesses and evidence na nakuha na,” sinabi ni Flores.
Ikinokonsidera ring witness sa impeachment trial si dating senador Antonio Trillanes IV.
“Hindi naman automatic na na-present ka in the Committee on Justice, automatic is witness ka na rin dito sa impeachment complaint. Of course, titingnan namin kung how important is the testimony or yung anong mai-present mo to help the article, to prove that specific article,” paliwnag ni Flores.
“We’re still working on it on some of the articles. Pero karamihan ay okay na. But yung iba, siguro may kino-consider pa na additional witness sa ibang articles,” dagdag pa niya.
Wala namang nakikitang isyu sa pagka-delay ng impeachemnt trial ang liderato ng Senado.
“I don’t think it will necessarily lead to any delay because I think they’re all in agreement naman na ano yung definition ng forthwith. So lumabas na rin sa Supreme Court and they already parang convened the impeachment court. So wala na akong ibang reason na makita that could affect the schedule siguro na, so far, has been set by the Senate,” aniya.
Hinihintay pa ng House Prosecution Panel ang tugon ni Duterte sa Articles of Impeachment.
Si Duterte ay mayroong 10 araw mula sa pagkakatanggap ng writ of summons noong Mayo 20.
