“The roundtable concluded with a massive visual vote of confidence for the administration’s economic agenda, yielding an aggregate investment commitment of USD3.4 billion (approximately P210 billion) from participating Japanese corporations,” ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Sinabi pa ng PCO na “that combined capital inflows are projected to catalyze substantive macroeconomic benefits, expanding domestic industrial capacity and creating thousands of high-quality, specialized jobs for Filipinos.”

“Beyond immediate employment, this strategic financial infusion underscores the resilience of the Philippine market, promising long-term economic dividends by fortifying local supply chains, upgrading tourism infrastructure, and accelerating technology transfers across critical growth sectors,” ang tinuran pa ng PCO.

“We are entering a new chapter — a chapter defined not only by friendship, but by deeper integration, shared growth, and a common belief in the future,” ang sinabi ng Pangulo sa pinakamalalaking conglomerates at financial institutions ng Japan.

“You are no longer just investors in our economy. You are builders of it,” ang diing pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Aniya pa, pinagsisikapan ng Pilipinas ang isang ‘coordinated national strategy’ upang ihanay ang infrastructure development, industrial growth, finance, human capital at connectivity para suportahan ang long-term expansion, “with trade and tourism positioned as central drivers of growth.”

“And increasingly, we recognize that trade and tourism will be among the most important engines of that growth,” ang winika ng Pangulo sabay sabing, “In this sense, trade and tourism are not supporting sectors. They are core drivers of economic expansion in the Philippines moving forward. This is a philosophy our two countries understand deeply.”

Samantala, tiniyak naman ng Pangulo sa Japanese partners ang patuloy na reporma para mapahusay pa ang institutional efficiency at long-term investment stability, sabay sabing “government is modernizing institutions to better support trade and tourism-led growth.”

Sinabi pa niya na ang Pilipinas ay “defined not by one strength — but by many working together.”

“To all our Japanese partners, you know the Philippines not from reports, but from experience. You know our workforce: skilled, adaptable, and globally competitive…resilient in adversity, ambitious in opportunity, and increasingly connected to global trade and tourism flows,” ang tinuran pa ni Pangulong Marcos.

Si Pangulong Marcos ay kasalukuyang nasa Japan para sa four-day state visit na naglalayong palakasin ang ‘political ties, defense cooperation, economic partnerships at people-to-people exchanges’ sa pagitan ng Maynila at Tokyo. (Kris Jose)
