MANILA, Philippines – Binawi ang imbitasyon ng pagdalo ng 18 umano’y ex-Marines kasama ang legal counsel nitong si Atty. Levito Baligod, sa imbestigasyon ng Senate blue ribbon committee para sa maanomalyang flood control projects.
Ito ang ibinahagi ni Baligod sa social media nitong Martes, Hunyo 2, kung saan nakatanggap siya ng email mula sa Blue Ribbon Oversight Office na ipinadala sa kanya at sa dating Marine na si Bernard Tube.
“Dear Atty. Baligod and Mr. Tube, et al.: This refers to the invitations previously issued to you and your clients, the eighteen (18) Marine personnel… Please be informed that, upon the directive of Chairperson Senator Pia S. Cayetano, the said invitations are hereby withdrawn,” saad sa naturang e-mail.
Matatandaan na ibinahagi ni Baligod sa social media ang formal invitation mula sa Senate panel nitong Lunes.
Siya umano at ang ex-Marines ay inimbitahan sa ikasiyam na pagdinig sa maanomalyang flood control projects na itinakda sa Huwebes, Hunyo 4.
Ayon kay Baligod, ang pagbawi ng imbitasyon ay kasunod ng “fall of the [Senate] majority bloc.” Hindi naman niya idinitalye kung ano ang ibig sabihin niya rito.
“Fellow countrymen, here we can see what the abandoned institution that is struggling to become independent — our Senate — is going through right now.”
