MANILA, Philippines – Nagdadalamhati ngayon ang isang paaralan sa Tacloban City, Leyte matapos masawi ang tatlong estudyante at pagkasugat ng lima pa sa isang shooting incident sa San Jose National High School sa nasabing lungsod.
“Bullying” diumano ang itinuturong dahilan ng pamamaril ng dalawang suspek na batay sa police report ay nasa Grade 9.
“As we mourn, we must also reflect on what more can be done to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. We owe it to our children, our teachers, and every Filipino family to make our schools places where young people can learn without fear,” batay na rin sa paunang pahayag ni Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez.
Bago isinagawa ang brutal na pamamaril ay nagpakuha pa ng larawan ang mga suspek at ngayon ay nasa custody na ng kapulisan.
“I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the tragic shooting incident at in Tacloban City that claimed the lives of students and left several others injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, the injured students, their classmates, teachers, and the entire school community as they face this unimaginable tragedy,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
Ayon pa sa mambabatas, nakipag-ugnayan na rin ang kaniyang tanggapan sa pamilya ng mga biktima upang makapagbigay ng anumang tulong para sa kanila.
“I have directed my office to coordinate with local authorities and relevant government agencies to determine what assistance can immediately be provided to the affected families. At the same time, I call on law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough and swift investigation so that all those responsible are held fully accountable under the law. In this difficult time, let us unite as one community in prayer, compassion, and support for those affected.
Nanawagan din ang pinuno ng Kamara na magkaroon ng malalim na repleksyon para mas mapigilan ang mga katulad na insidente sa mga paaralan sa bansa.

Ayon sa ulat, naganap ang pamamaril dakong alas-9:00 ng umaga sa loob ng compound ng nasabing paaralan.
Sa hiwalay na ulat mula sa Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PBGEN Jason L. Capoy, Regional Director, nasa kustodiya na ng mga awtoridad ang dalawang mag-aaral na itinuturing na Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) na siyang itinuturong nasa likod ng krimen.
Agad naisugod sa mga pinakamalapit na ospital ang mga sugatan at mabilis na nagkasa ng hot pursuit operation dahilan para agad na masukol ang dalawang menor de edad na suspek.
Dahil sa umiiral na probisyon ng Republic Act No. 9344 o ang Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, itinago ang pagkakakilanlan ng dalawang suspek na nakatakdang i-turn over sa City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
Pinuri naman ni PBGEN Capoy ang mabilis na aksyon ng kanyang mga tauhan habang patuloy na inaalam ang motibo sa likod ng pamamaril.
”Our personnel acted swiftly to place the CICL involved under custody while strictly observing the provisions of Republic Act No. 9344 and ensuring the protection of their rights and welfare. We assure the families of the victims and the public that a thorough, impartial, and child-sensitive investigation is underway. PRO 8 remains committed to pursuing justice through the proper legal process and maintaining peace and order in our communities,” saad ni PBGEN Capoy.
Bukod sa panawagang mabilis na imbestigasyon, agad na nagpakilos ng tulong pinansyal at suporta si Romualdez para sa pamilya ng mga biktima.
“Our priority is to ensure that the victims receive the medical care they need and that their families do not have to worry about the financial burden during this difficult time,” ani Romualdez.
Bukod sa hospital bills, nakipag-ugnayan na rin ang mambabatas sa mga funeral parlor at tiniyak sa pamilya ng tatlong nasawi na sagot din ng kanyang tanggapan ang lahat ng gastusin sa libing.
“No family should have to carry this burden alone. We want the families to focus on grieving and supporting one another while we take care of whatever assistance we can provide,” ani Romualdez.
