CIDG, inirekomenda hazing case vs Tab Baldwin, 10 iba pa

MANILA, Philippines – Inirekomenda ng Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) ang pagsasampa ng kasong paglabag sa Republic Act No. 11053 o Anti-Hazing Act laban sa nagbitiw na Ateneo de Manila University men’s basketball team head coach na si Thomas Anthony “Tab” Baldwin at 10 iba pa kaugnay ng pagkamatay ng mga manlalarong sina Rene Baterbonia at Divine Adili sa isang training activity sa Dipaculao, Aurora.

Ayon kay Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, isinumite na sa Department of Justice ang rekomendasyon para sa evaluation at preliminary investigation.

“The PNP CIDG recommends the evaluation, case build-up and preliminary evaluation by the DOJ for violation of RA 11053 or the Anti-Hazing against respondents who actually planned and participated in the hazing,” ani Remulla sa isang press briefing sa Quezon City.

Kabilang din sa mga inirekomendahang sampahan ng kaso sina strength and conditioning coaches Grant Dearns at Ceasar Vicent Javellana Elumba; assistant coaches Dean Caesar B. Castaño, Sandro Nicholas Romero Soriano, at Reynaldo Jacinto; student managers Paolo Manuel Maceda Adevoso at Andrew Lorenzo “Drew” Bondoc Salud; physical therapist John Eric Quiambao Rueca; at utility personnel Aris Ramos Pronce at Joel “Boy” Palmiano Rapa.
