MANILA, Philippines – Ibinasura ni impeachment presiding Judge Senator Chiz Escudero ang kahilingan ng prosekusyon na magkaroon ng arraignment o pagbasa sa bawat Articles of Impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa kaniyang manipestasyon bago ang opening statement, sinabi ni Lead Prosecutor Rep. Gerville Luistro na isa-isang basahin at pagbotohan ang apat na articles of impeachment na agad namang kinwestyon ng Defense Lead Counsel na si Atty. Sheila Sison.
Ayon kay Escudero, babasahin lamang isa-isa ang articles of impeachment kapag magbobotohan na dahil ngayon pa lamang ito ipinasok sa record ng impeachment court.
Sa isyu ng “BIR box” iniutos ng impeachment court na ibalik sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang kahon na hindi binuksan ng House Committee on Justice.
“Be sure as ordered that the BIR box, closed, sealed, as it is received be sent back to BIR or Bureau of Internal Revenue without prejudice to the action that the court may take if a motion will be filed by either party for the issuance of the subpoena,” ayon kay Senate Presiding officer Escudero.
Ang BIR box ay nasa Clerk of Court pa rin hanggang ngayon at ang atas ng impeachment court ay ibalik ito hanggang bukas ng tanghali sa BIR.
Hiniling din ng prosekusyon sa impeachment court na padalhan ng subpina ang dalawang tauhan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na una ng nag-imbestiga sa ginawang pagbabanta ni Vice President Sara Duterte kina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., at sa asawang si First Lady Liza Araneta at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Ito ay dahil ang nabanggit na “threat” o pagbabanta na bahagi ng article of impeachment ang unang ihahain ng prosekusyon sa impeachment court. Meliza Maluntag
