MANILA, Philippines — Winasak ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency nitong Miyerkoles ang P1.91 bilyong halaga ng ilegal na droga sa Quezon City upang matiyak na hindi na ito makababalik sa mga komunidad.
Isinagawa ang pagsira sa mga nakumpiskang droga sa pamamagitan ng thermal decomposition sa Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapels and Crematory sa Barangay Doña Imelda, sa ilalim ng mahigpit na seguridad.
Ayon sa PDEA, kabilang sa winasak ang 335,668.1821 gramo ng solid dangerous drugs at 1,025.7000 milliliters ng liquid dangerous drugs.
Kabilang dito ang 279,671.7975 gramo ng shabu; 55,618.9291 gramo ng marijuana; 202.6755 gramo ng MDMA o Ecstasy na nasa 316 capsules; 77.5000 gramo ng Diazepam; 97.2800 gramo ng Pseudoephedrine; 933.0000 milliliters ng liquid marijuana; at 92.7000 milliliters ng Toluene.
Sinabi ng PDEA na ang mga droga ay nakumpiska sa mga operasyon nito at sa joint law enforcement operations, at kalauna’y iniutos ng mga korte na sirain matapos gamitin bilang ebidensya sa matagumpay na pag-usig ng mga kaso.
Ayon kay PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez, mahalaga ang pagsira sa nakumpiskang ilegal na droga gaya ng pagkumpiska sa mga ito.
“Every gram of illegal drugs destroyed today represents lives protected, families spared from the devastating effects of drug abuse, and communities made safer. Once authorized by the courts, PDEA ensures that every confiscated drug is permanently destroyed,” ani Nerez.
“Our destruction process is conducted in full view of the courts, partner agencies, civil society, and the media because transparency builds public confidence. It reflects the Bagong Pilipinas vision of a government founded on integrity, accountability, and decisive public service,” dagdag niya.
