MANILA, Philippines – Makikipagtulungan ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa mga ride-hailing company matapos ang dalawang insidente ng pagpatay at pananaksak sa mga motorcycle taxi rider, partikular sa Caloocan City at Cavite.
“The Philippine National Police recognizes the public’s concern following the recent incidents involving motorcycle taxi riders,” saad sa pahayag ng PNP nitong Huwebes, Hulyo 16.
“While these cases have been addressed through the arrest of the suspects, we will continue to work closely with motorcycle ride-hailing companies, local government units, and other stakeholders to strengthen measures that help protect riders, passengers, and the public while preventing similar incidents,” dagdag pa.
Ang stabbing incident sa Caloocan City ay nangyari madaling araw noong Martes, habang ang insidente sa Cavite ay nangyari Hulyo 9.
Napansin din ng PNP ang pangamba ng mga rider katulad ng larawan na kumalat sa social media kung saan isang motorcycle rider ang may nakasulat pang mensahe sa likod ng helmet nito na nagsasabing “Buntis ang asawa ko. Huwag niyo po ako sanang saktan.”
“The message seen on the back of a rider’s helmet reflects the simple hope of every hardworking Filipino—to return home safely to their loved ones after a day’s work,” ayon sa PNP.
“As the cases move through the justice system, we remain committed to ensuring that all those responsible are held accountable in accordance with the law,” dagdag pa.
