MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na 95 porsiyento na ang kahandaan nito para sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections (BPE) na gaganapin sa Setyembre 14.
Ayon kay Comelec Chairperson George Garcia, handa na ang ahensya para sa kauna-unahang BARMM Parliamentary Elections.
“We are 95 percent ready for the BPE, especially since the President said that the peaceful elections in the Bangsamoro are expected to continue,” aniya.
Natapos na rin ang pag-imprenta at beripikasyon ng mahigit 2.3 milyong opisyal na balota. Mas mababa sa 1 porsiyento ang mga depektibong balota at agad itong naimprenta muli.
“Ballots have been completed for printing and verification. There were less than 1 percent defective ballots, and we have reprinted them immediately,” dagdag niya.
“Ballots have been packed to be ready for deployment in the first week of August. Our machines are also ready for deployment, and other supplies. We are just waiting for our packing and shipping committee,” ayon pa kay Garcia.
Naghahanda na rin ang Comelec para sa pagsasanay ng mga guro, special electoral board, at mga tauhan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na magsisilbi sa halalan.
“Leading to the elections, so far, all that is left is the training of teachers and special electoral board, Philippine National Police personnel. Our preparations are only a little unfinished,” aniya.
Nagsimula na rin nitong Huwebes ang panahon ng kampanya para sa BPE at magtatapos ito sa Setyembre 12. RNT/MDS
