MANILA, Philippines – Magpupulong ang major transport groups at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ngayong Lunes, Agosto 3, para pag-usapan ang panukalang taas-pasahe sa public utility vehicles (PUVs).
“The goal has always been to come up with the best measures that are acceptable not only to the PUV community but also to all the concerned sectors, particularly the commuters, because of the continuous challenge that we face as a result of the situation in the Middle East,” saad sa pahayag ni LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II.
“The purpose of the hearing is to receive evidence, comments and the respective positions of all interested parties regarding the pending petition,” dagdag pa niya.
Inaasahang dadalo sa 9 a.m. na hearing na ipinag-utos ni Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez ang jeepney groups na Piston at Manibela, UV express groups na Metro Comet Transport Service Cooperative, 997 Sandigan Transport Cooperative, at UV Express National Alliance of the Philippines; taxi groups na Metro Comet Transport Service Cooperative at Light of Glory Transport Service Inc.; at motorcycle taxi group na United Transportation Coalition of the Philippines.
Ang mga grupo ay may magkakahiwalay na petisyon para sa fare increase na mula P2 hanggang P13.
Matapos ang pagdinig ay ipapasa ng LTFRB sa transport department ang proposal para sa hiling na fare adjustment. RNT/JGC
