MANILA, Philippines – Pormal nang natanggap ng impeachment court ang authorization letter mula kay Pangulong Ferinand Marcos Jr., upang tumupad ang Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na isumite at ibulatlat ang lahat ng tax records ni Vice President Sara Duterte at Atty. Mans Carpio.
Sa pagpapatuloy ng paglilitis kay Duterte, opisyal na inihayag ni Presiding Officer Senator-Judge Francis “Chiz” Escudero na natanggap ng clerk of court ang isinumite ng BIR ang awtorisasyon na pinapayagan ang dokumento mula sa ahensiya na naglalaman ng tax records ni Duterte at Carpio.
Kasabay nito, pinayagan din ng impeachment court ang hininging palugit ng ilang bangko upang magsumite ng certified true copies ng bank records nina Duterte at Carpio sa Clerk of Court na gagamitin sa impeachment trial.
“For the information of the Senator-Judges, the Clerk of Court received the submission coming from the BIR after the BIR commissioners submitted a presidential authorization providing for the release of the documents from the BIR as required by Section 71 in relation to Section 270 of the National Internal Revenue Code in compliance again with the court’s directive prior to receiving its submission,” ayon sa ruling ni Escudero.
Pinayagan din ni Escudero ang lahat ng Partido na kopyahin ang authorization letter kabilang ang lahat ng dokumento na may kinalaman sa tax records ng mag-asawang Carpio.
“For the information of the Senator-Judges and for the information of the parties, copies shall be given if at all to the parties after the submission shall be completed where the parties will be given equal opportunity to review the documents, photocopy the same, and study the same as it is still the last article we will be taking up. So ordered,” ayon kay Escudero.
Kasabay nito, pinayagan din ng impeachment court ang 10 araw na palugit sa pagsusumite ng bank records ng mag-asawa mula sa BDO Unibank, Security Banks kabilang ang ilan pang government financial institutions.
Nitong July 20, 2026, inatasan ng impeachment court ang BIR, Bureau of Internal Revenue, the Anti-Money Laundering Council, BDO Unibank, Philippine Savings Bank, PSBank, Metropolitan Bank and Trust Companies, Security Bank, Landbank of the Philippines, at Bank of the Philippine Islands sa pamamagitan ng kani-kanilang kinatawan na isumite ang naka-subpoena na dokumento sa Office of the Clerk of Court sa July 30, 2026.
“During their submission however, BDO Unibank and Security Bank manifested their request for additional period of 10 days, 10 banking days rather or until August 13 to submit documents which they are not able to submit on time,” ayon kay Escudero.
Ayon pa kay Escudero: “BDO requested for additional time to achieve, compile, produce, and submit item No. 3 in the subpoena namely all account transactions, records, ledgers, journals, etc. and transactions logs.”
Ikinatuwiran naman ng Security Bank na masyadong marami ang hinihinging dokumento ng impeachment court kaya hindi nakumpleto ang printing nito hinggil partikular ang dalawa sa 20 entities para sa Gen. Corp. Industries at Kalye 88 Foods Corporation,
“In view of the foregoing, the court resolved to note and grant the request of BDO for additional 10 days, 10 banking days rather or until August 13 to submit the additional documents required by the subpoena duces tecum,” ayon sa ruling.
“Likewise, BDO is directed to submit four additional USB flash drives containing the electronic copies of the subpoena documents which were submitted on July 30,” dagdag ni Escudero.
Inatasan din ni Escudero ang lahat ng iba pang bangko at ahensiya at tanggapan ng gobyerno na tutupad sa naturang kautusan.
“The court also notes and grants the request of Security Bank for additional 10 working days from July 30 or until August 13 to submit to the Clerk of Court the three certified copies and five USB flash drives containing the complete electronic copies of the bank records pertaining to Gen. Corp. Industries Incorporated and Kalye Foods 88,” ayon kay Escudero.
