MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na masyado pang maaga para mag-endorso ng kandidato para sa 2028 presidential elections.
Subalit tiniyak ng Pangulo na kukunin niya ang “best possible candidate” na maipagpapatuloy ang anti-corruption measures ng kanyang administrasyon.
“The candidate I will endorse will be someone who I am confident will continue our anti corruption measures… Who that is? I don’t know. Maaga pa,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa isinagawang dayalogo kasama ang Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP).
Winika ng Pangulo na sa ngayon, tanging “one person has put her hat on the ring,” tila ang tinutukoy ay si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Gayunman, sinabi ng Pangulo na maraming political events ang magaganap bago pa ang 2028 national elections, sa kabila ng surveys na nagpapakita ng pagtatangi.
“And so, it’s very hard for me to, for myself, even to make a decision. I would say that if I decided now, it would be premature. We have to see how things really shape up,” ayon sa Pangulo.
Tinuran pa niya na wala pa syang nakakausap na kahit na isa kung nais ng mga ito na tumakbo sa pagka-pangulo o hindi.
“The time will come,” ang winika ng Pangulo.
“We will certainly provide the best candidate with the betterment of the lives of every Filipino. We will choose the best possible candidate who will continue what we have started,” aniya pa rin. (KRIS JOSE)
