MANILA, Philippines – Nakatutok ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa pagbili ng karagdagang motorsiklo para mapalakas ang mobility assets nito, lalo na sa mga lugar na mahirap pasukin ng mga four-wheel vehicle.
Ayon kay PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., makatutulong ang mga motorsiklo para mapabilis ang pagtugon sa emergency calls at krimen, lalo na sa mga lugar na matrapik, makikitid ang kalsada at hindi maganda ang kondisyon ng daan.
“Gone are the days when policemen are being portrayed in movies as always the last to arrive in an emergency situation. The prevailing mindset now is pro-active, quick response and crime solution efficiency,” ani Nartatez.
“And when it comes to crime prevention and quick response, a sufficient and appropriate number of mobility assets really matter,” dagdag niya.
Bahagi ito ng pagsisikap ng PNP na mapabilis ang frontline services. Nadagdagan din ang mobility assets ng pulisya matapos i-turn over ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang 73 motorsiklo sa National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Ipamamahagi ang mga ito sa Manila Police District at Quezon City Police District, gayundin sa mga police station sa Pasay, Pasig at Taguig.
“The provision of motorcycles will help our personnel better respond to the calls of all our kababayan in the Unified 911 Hotline,” ani Nartatez.
Kasama sa procurement ang motorcycle-riding training para sa mga pulis. May P2 bilyon namang inilaan sa ilalim ng PNP Capability Enhancement Program para sa pagbili ng mobility assets at iba pang operational requirements.
“We are thankful for donations from government agencies but I also assure our police stations that procurement of assets is among our priorities in the PNP’s budget allocation and utilization,” ani Nartatez. RNT/MDS
