MANILA, Philippines – Nakatanggap si Vice President Sara Duterte ng imbitasyon mula sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) para dumalo sa conference kaugnay ng mga alegasyon ni Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., ayon sa kanyang abogado na si Atty. Paul Lawrence Lim nitong Sabado.
Si Gracioso ay isang dismissed policeman at dating security aide ni dating House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco. Inangkin niyang naghatid siya ng bilyun-bilyong piso na cash sa Bise Presidente at sa kanyang pamilya. Itinanggi naman ni Duterte ang mga alegasyon.
Kinumpirma ng NBI nitong Huwebes na nagpadala ito ng imbitasyon kina Duterte at Velasco.
Gayunman, sinabi ni Lim na hindi pa sila makatutugon sa imbitasyon dahil walang kalakip na kopya ng affidavit ni Gracioso at iba pang kaugnay na dokumento.
“We have requested the NBI for a faithful copy thereof and all its supporting documents, if any,” pahayag ni Lim.
“Once received, the Vice President will take appropriate action thereon in due course,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi rin ni Lim na hindi makakadalo si Duterte sa itinakdang conference ng NBI sa Oktubre 5. Hiniling ng abogado na mabigyan muna ang Bise Presidente ng sapat na panahon upang suriin ang sinumpaang salaysay ni Gracioso bago humarap sa ahensya.
“Our client cannot provide any meaningful reply to your request at this time. In this regard, we respectfully request your good office for a clear and faithful copy of Mr. Gracioso’s Sinumpaang Salaysay, all attachments thereto, and supporting evidence submitted by him, if any,” bahagi ng liham ni Lim sa NBI.
“This will enable our client to intelligently prepare a reply thereto and/or take other appropriate action thereon,” dagdag niya. RNT/MDS
