ILOILO, Philippines – Ininspeksyon ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang bagong disaster relief warehouse sa Barangay Tumcon Ilaya, Pototan, Iloilo nitong Lunes, Oktubre 5.
Itinayo ang pasilidad sa lupang donasyon ng lokal na pamahalaan at magsisilbing karagdagang imbakan ng prepositioned food packs ng DSWD sa Western Visayas.
Ayon sa DSWD, makatutulong ang estratehikong lokasyon ng Pototan sa Panay Island upang mapabilis ang pagresponde at paghahatid ng tulong sa mga lugar na maaapektuhan ng kalamidad.
Kasama ni Gatchalian sa inspeksyon sina DSWD Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe, Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao ng Disaster Response Management Group, Assistant Secretary Leo Quintilla ng Resource and Logistics Management, DSWD Field Office 6 Regional Director Joselito Estember at Pototan Mayor Rafael Enrique Lazaro.
