MANILA, Philippines – Pinangunahan ni Agoncillo, Batangas Mayor Atty. Cinderella Valenton-Reyes ang paglilikas sa mga residente gabi ng Huwebes, Oktubre 8, kasunod ng phreatomagmatic eruption ng Bulkang Taal.
Ang evacuation at immediate response ay isinagawa ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Social Welfare Development Office, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, at Philippine Coast Guard.
Sinabi ng lokal na pamahalaan na “it is important to be cautious and follow the warnings of the relevant authorities.”
“Because of this, our Local Government prioritized our compatriots living near the volcano, as a precaution against the effects of volcanic gases, including sulfur, which can be irritating and harmful when inhaled,” dagdag pa.
Ang mga inilikas na residente ay tumutuloy sa PAGCOR Socio-Civic Center at sa bahay ng kanilang mga kaanak.
Nagpapatuloy naman ang monitoring ng LGU sa aktibidad ng Bulkang Taal.
“The Local Government of Agoncillo and all partner offices continue to be ready to respond to the needs of our citizens,” dagdag pa.
Matatandaan na nakapagtala ang PHIVOLCS ng minor phreatomagmatic eruption sa main crater ng Bulkang Taal nitong Huwebes, OKtubre 8.
Nagbabala naman ang ahensya sa posibilidad ng ash fall sa mga bayan ng Agoncillo, Lemery, San Nicolas, Taal, Batangas at kalapit na lugar. RNT/JGC
