MANILA, Philippines – Ibinunyag ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang cash on hand at in banks nina Vice President Sara Duterte at asawa nitong si Atty. Manases Carpio — perang hindi nila idineklara sa kanilang Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) mula nang maupo sa pwesto ang bise presidente.
Base ito sa Audited Financial Statements (AFS) ng mag-asawa na isinumite sa BIR, ayon kay BIR Chief of Staff Anne Loraine Garcia-Marquez sa pagdinig ng Senate impeachment court nitong Huwebes.
Cash declarations sa BIR mula 2022-2025:
· Disyembre 31, 2022: P21,234,980
· Disyembre 31, 2023: P28,971,725
· Disyembre 31, 2024: P15,525,209
· Disyembre 31, 2025: P13,804,540
“Based on the audited financial statement submitted to the BIR, as of December 31, 2024, there was cash on hand and in banks amounting to P15,525,209,” sabi ni Garcia-Marquez sa pagtatanong ni public prosecutor Erwin Matib.
“And how much was the cash on hand and in banks as of December 31, 2025?” tanong muli ni Matib.
“As of December 31, 2025, there was cash on hand and in banks amounting to P13,804,540,” sagot ng opisyal ng BIR.
Binanggit ni Matib na kabilang ang mga AFS na ito sa mga dokumentong isinumite ng BIR sa Senado para sa impeachment trial ni Duterte.
“For the benefit of viewers who may not be familiar with accounting and finance, could you please explain what audited financial statements are?” tanong ni Matib.
“These are financial statements that were verified by an independent certified public accountant stating that the financial statements were presented fairly, and in accordance with the Philippine financial reporting standards,” paliwanag ni Garcia-Marquez.
Nauna nang sinabi ng testigo mula sa Office of the Ombudsman na hindi nagdeklara ng cash si Duterte sa SALN mula 2019 hanggang 2025.
Ayon sa testimony ni Ombudsman records officer Karen Batu noong Setyembre, nagdeklara lang ng cash on hand at in bank si Duterte noong siya ay vice mayor ng Davao City mula 2007-2009, at sa kanyang unang termino bilang mayor 2010-2012 at ikalawang termino 2016-2018.
Sa kanyang ikatlong termino bilang mayor, wala siyang idineklarang cash para sa 2019 at 2020.
“For SALNs 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, wala pong nakadeclare na cash on hand or in bank,” sabi noon ni Batu. Ernie Reyes
