MANILA, Philippines- Nagpaabot ng pagbati si Vice President Sara Duterte kay Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost matapos mahalal bilang ika-267 na Santo Papa ng Simbahang Katolika.

This joyful moment unites over 80 million Filipinos—whether in our archipelago or spread across every continent—in deep gratitude to God for guiding the College of Cardinals in their discernment and prayer,” ang sinabi ni VP Sara.
Maituturing na makasaysayang araw ang paghalal kay Pope Leo ng mga cardinal at sinasalamin aniya ito sa panibagong pag-asa.
“It inspires us to deepen our commitment to prayer, service, and the Gospel values that bind us as one family in Christ. We pray that Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate will awaken a revitalized spirit of faith in every parish, every community, and every heart,” aniya.
“Under Pope Leo XIV’s stewardship, we look forward to a Church that fosters dialogue across faiths and cultures, promotes solidarity among nations, and tirelessly works for peace. May his guidance open new paths for reconciliation, understanding, and cooperation in our troubled world,” dagdag ni Duterte.
Ang hiling naman ni VP Sara ay pagkalooban ng Panginoon ang bagong Santo Papa ng masaganang karunungan, lakas ng loob, at kalusugan.
“And may the Philippines always be counted among those who uphold and advance the mission of the universal Church under your venerated leadership,” ang winika ni VP Sara.
