MANILA, Philippines – Mga bank record at ang Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) ni Vice President Sara Duterte ay maaaring legal na ibunyag sa panahon ng kanyang impeachment trial, sabi ni Bicol Saro party-list Representative Terry Ridon.
Sinabi ni Ridon na ang pagbubunyag nito ay may kaugnayan sa ika-apat na artikulo ng impeachment na may kaugnayan sa violation of the Constitution at betrayal of public trust, partikular na ang mga alegasyon ng hindi maipaliwanag na yaman at hindi paglalahad ng lahat ng kanyang mga ari-arian at interes sa mga ari-arian sa kanyang SALN.
“The bank records will be examined to determine whether there exists a direct correspondence between her family’s typical income and her bank deposits and other investments. It should be noted that former Chief Justice Renato Corona had been convicted on the basis of non-disclosure of several assets in his SALN,” paliwanag niya.
Gayunpaman, ang pagsisiwalat ng mga deposito sa bangko na ito at ang SALN sa huli ay nakasalalay sa impeachment court ng Senado, na boboto kapag ang isang mosyon para sa pagsisiwalat ay iniharap ng mga tagausig.
“To be very clear, the motions will be subject to a vote by the Senate, so we’d like to manage expectations. The Senate can approve or deny requests for further information on bank accounts,” saad ni Ridon.
Nauna nang sinabi ng tagapagsalita ng Bise Presidente na si Ruth Castelo na “handa” ang kanyang amo kung magpapatuloy ang impeachment.
“The Vice President is ready, she’s been saying that. And she’s eager to be able to present her case or her evidence in the impeachment court so that once and for all, all doubts cast on her will go away. And that’s what she wants,” ani Castelo.
Ang impeachment case na iniharap ng Kamara ay inaakusahan si Duterte ng betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, graft and corruption, at iba pang matataas na krimen pangunahin dahil sa umano’y maling paggamit ng P612.5 million na halaga ng confidential funds at dahil sa pagbabanta na papatayin si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., ang kanyang asawang si Martiny Lemuasin, Jr., ang kanyang asawang si Martiny Lemuasin, Jr. RNT/MND
