MANILA, Philippines – Walang alam si Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte sa kaugnayan ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa GenCorp Industries Inc.
Sa pahayag nitong Lunes ng gabi, Setyembre 21, sinabi ni Baste na ang transaksyon ng Davao City Government sa GenCorp ay umabot sa mahigit P33.2 milyon sa 19 kontrata.
“I, and all other officials and employees of the City Government of Davao, never had any knowledge of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte holding an interest in GENCORP INDUSTRIES INC.,” aniya.
“Furthermore, neither the name Sara Zimmerman Duterte nor the surname “Duterte” appears in any of the official documents, such as, among others, the Articles of Incorporation, submitted by GENCORP INDUSTRIES INC. across the 19 contracts and transactions in question,” dagdag pa nito.
Si Baste ay nakatakdang tumestigo sa impeachment trial ng kapatid mula Setyembre 28 hanggang 30.
Ipinunto niya na ang GenCorp ay sinusuri sa bawat transaksyon at natukoy na nakapagpasa ng pinakamababang calculated responsive bid o offer.
Sinabi rin ni Baste na ang lahat ng 19 transaksyon ay naiproseso, naiulat, at nailathala sa Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) at ang lahat ng transaksyon ay “above board.”
Sa 19 na kontrata sa GenCorp, 13 ang nakumpleto na at anim ang nagpapatuloy.
Apat sa mga kontrata ay nakuha sa pamamagitan ng competitive public bidding, habang ang 15 iba pa ay sa pamamagitan ng small-value procurement.
“I remain steadfast in my commitment to transparency, fairness and the absolute truth. This statement is issued ahead of any so-called lawful proceedings as I believe that the people, especially the people of the City of Davao, have the right to know,” sinabi ni Baste.
Idineklara ng Bise Presidente ang GenCorp bilang isa sa kanyang business interests sa kanyang Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN)
Sa kabila nito, hindi naman siya inilista ng GenCorp bilang incorporator o director batay sa General Information Sheet and Audited Financial Statement ng kompanya na ipinasa sa SEC.
Ito ay kinumpirma ni SEC Company Registration and Monitoring Department Director Gerardo Fernando del Rosario nitong Lunes, Setyembre 21 sa impeachment trial ni Duterte. RNT/JGC
