MANILA, Philippines – Palalakasin ng Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO5) ang border control at checkpoint operations para limitahan ang mga grupong nagtatangkang bumiyahe patungo sa Metro Manila at manggulo sa ikatlong State of the Nation Address (Sona) ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City sa Lunes, Hulyo 20.
Ayon kay PRO5 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 19, palalakasin nila ang security operations upang masiguro ang kaligtasan at kaayusan ng publiko.
“To manage the movement of groups effectively, comprehensive border security control points will be established at key locations. The checkpoints are designed to deny entry, exit, and passage to organizations affiliated with communist terrorist groups and other potentially disruptive elements,” saad sa pahayag ni Dizon.
Palalakasin ng PRO5 ang visibility, intelligence-driven operations, mobile at foot patrols, at community relations upang mapigilan ang mga criminal activity, at makapagbigay ng agarang tugon sa mga pangangailangan.
Naka-standby din ang Specialized Crowd Dispersal Management units para sa mga posibleng kilos-protesta na isasagawa sa rehiyon.
Sa hiwalay na pahayag, siniguro ni PRO5 spokesperson Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib sa publiko na ipatutupad ang maximum tolerance ngunit hindi aatubiling arestuhin ang mga violator.
