MANILA, Philippines – Pinayuhan ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang overseas Filipino workers sa Europe naobserbahan ang pagpasok sa mga border controls sa bansa sa loob ng Schengen Area.
Ayon sa abiso, nagpataw ng heightened border controls ang Denmark,bNorway,bSlovenia at Sweden.
“In view of the foregoing, the public and OFWs in Europe are reminded to exercise caution in crossing borders within the Schengen Area and to always have in their possession their valid passports, visa, or residence permits, and other pertinent documents when traveling,” sabi ng DMW.
Ipinaliwanang ng ahensya na ang nasabing mga bansa ay nagpataw ng mahigpit na pagsusuri sa mga cross-border trains, nagdagdag ng survellaince ,maraming police officers na permanenteng nakatalaga at ang paggamit ng face recognition technology.
“Pursuant to the European Parliament and European Union Council Community Code on the rules governing the movement of persons across borders otherwise known as the Schengen Borders Code (SBC), the EU Member States are allowed to temporarily reintroduce border controls at internal borders in response to serious threats to public policy or internal security,” sabi pa ng DMW.
Bukod sa mga bansa sa loob ng Schengen Area, ang mga bansang nagbabahagi ng mga hangganan sa Switzerland ay nagpapatupad ng parehong patakaran:
Austria – Oktubre 16, 2024 hanggang Abril 15, 2025
France – Nobyembre 1, 2024 hanggang Abril 30, 2025
Germany – Nobyembre 12, 2024 hanggang Marso 15, 2025
Italy – Hunyo 19, 2024 hanggang Disyembre 18, 2025
