MANILA, Philippines – Inihayag ng China na nagsagawa ito ng “countermeasures” laban sa dalawang military aircraft ng Pilipinas na lumipad umano sa airspace nito sa South China Sea, ayon sa foreign ministry nitong Biyernes, Agosto 23.
“On August 22, two Philippine military aircraft trespassed into the airspace near the Nansha Islands, including Zhubi Jiao (Subi Reef), where China is stationed,” saad sa pahayag ng foreign ministry ng China.
Dagdag pa, “the Chinese side took necessary countermeasures in accordance with the law, in order to protect its own sovereignty and security”.
Hindi naman tinukoy ng foreign ministry kung ano ang eksaktong ginawa nito, ngunit inilarawan ang aksyon bilang “professional, restrained, and standardized.”
“China will continue to firmly protect its own territorial sovereignty and maritime rights, and firmly oppose any infringing actions,” dagdag pa. RNT/JGC
