MANILA, Philippines – Nag-isyu ng warrant of arrest ang Malolos Bulacan Regional Trial Court (RTC) laban sa mga contractor na sina Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya, asawa nitong si Cezarah at siyam iba pa sa reklamong malversation through falsification of public documents kaugnay sa maanomalyang flood control projects.
Nag-isyu ang korte ng warrant of arrest isang araw matapos na maghain ng malversation at graft charges ang Office of the Ombudsman laban sa mag-asawang Discaya at siyam iba pang indibidwal kabilang sina Merg Jaron Laus, Brice Ericson Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza, Ernesto Galang, Norberto Santos, Lorenzo Pagtalunan, Juanito Coronel Mendoza, Floralyn Simbulan, at Ma. Roma Angeline Rimando.
Walang inirekomendang piyansa ang korte para sa 11 akusado.
Sinabi naman ni Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla na si Curlee Discaya ay dadalhin sa Bulacan sa Lunes, Hunyo 8.
“He’s in Senate custody now. The RTC that issued the warrant is closed already ’til Monday. We will get him from the Senate on Monday and bring him to Bulacan,” ani Remulla.
“The findings of the Office of the Ombudsman reveal an utter and flagrant disregard for government auditing and accounting regulations. Specifically, investigators discovered that payments for the project’s first billing were released despite an unapproved Disbursement Voucher,” sinabi naman ni Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano matapos ihain ang reklamo.
“Furthermore, full payments for dredging and embankment items were made without any basis for computation or the necessary supporting documents required to prove project accomplishment,” dagdag pa.
Aniya, ang mga aksyon na ito ay nagresulta sa pakikinabang ng St. Timothy Construction Corporation ng nasa P53.9 milyon, “causing significant financial injury to the government.” RNT/JGC
