MANILA, Philippines – PINATUNAYAN ng Malakanyang na ang pagbaba ng inflation rate nitong Mayo ay dahil sa hakbang at estratehiya ng gobyerno sa ilalim ng Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (Uplift).
Bumaba kasi sa 6.8 porsyento ang inflation rate ng bansa nitong Mayo 2026 mula sa 7.2 porsyento noong Abril ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
“The decline in inflation to 6.8% this May is good news for Filipino families. It is a sign that the government’s measures under the Uplift strategy are gradually bearing fruit,” ang sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary at Palace Press Officer Claire Castro sa Viber message sa mga mamamahayag.
Sinabi pa ni Castro na ang gobyerno ay nananatiling bigilante at patuloy na naghahanda para tugunan ang potensiyal na epekto ng El Niño at iba pang economic risks.
“However, we are not yet complacent. There are still risks, such as a possible increase in oil prices and the effects of El Niño,” ani Castro.
“That is why we continue to implement measures to keep essential goods affordable, protect the budget of every family, and create more jobs for Filipinos,” dagdag na wika nito.
Ang UPLIFT ay programa ng gobyerno para mabawasan ang epekto ng pagtaas ng presyo ng langis at iba pang gastusin sa araw-araw. Sa simpleng salita, kapag tumataas ang presyo ng fuel dahil sa gulo sa ibang bansa, domino effect kasi iyan.
Ito’y nilikha sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 110, nang magdeklara si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng national energy emergency.
Sa ilalim ng estratehiya, “the government has rolled out cash and fuel subsidies for drivers, agricultural input for farmers, among others.” KRIS JOSE
