MANILA, Philippines- Muling pinagtibay ng Department of National Defense (DND) nitong Biyernes ang interes nito na palakasin pa ang defense at military relations sa Israel.
Ito ay matapos mag-courtesy call ni Israel Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss kay Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro Jr.
Hangad ni Teodoro na mapalakas ang defense at military relations sa Israel, partikular sa information sharing at education at training exchanges.
Inihayag naman ni Ambassador Fluss ang kumpiyansa sa kolaborasyon sa paghahayag nito ng interes ng Israel sa pagsisiyasat sa potential areas of cooperation, partikular sa space and technology, search and rescue, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR), at cyber security.
“Secretary Teodoro welcomed the proposal, which supports the Philippines’ capacity-building efforts and capability to address defense and security issues,” anang DND.
“In broadening Philippines-Israel logistics and defense procurement cooperation, Secretary Teodoro also raised the possibility of a joint venture between both countries’ defense industries in support of the Philippines’ Self-Reliant Defense Posture,” dagdag nito. RNT/SA
