MANILA, Philippines – Pumirma ng kasunduan ang Department of Education (DepEd) at Cebu City government para sa 2024 Palarong Pambansa.
Pinirmahan nina Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio at Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama ng memorandum of agreement (MOA) upang siguruhin ang paghahanda sa Palarong Bansa ngayong taon.
“We affirm our unwavering dedication to strengthening our support for young athletes. Our primary goal is to equip them with the necessary tools to nurture discipline, resilience, and the indomitable spirit required to pursue their athletic passions,” saad sa press release ni Duterte nitong Sabado, Pebrero 3.
“The unique character and vaunted hospitality of Cebu City will make this year’s Palaro even more memorable for all our student-athletes.”
Ang Cebu City ang magsisilbing host para sa prestihiyosong taunang multi-sporting event sa ikatlong pagkakataon.
“We’ve been waiting for 30 years for this moment. In fact, the Cebu City Sports Center was built 30 years ago, specific to the hosting of Palarong Pambansa in Cebu City,” sinabi ni Cebu City Sports Commission chairman John Pages.
Sa ilalim ng MOA, patuloy na makikipag-ugnayan ang DepEd sa Cebu City upang masiguro ang security provisions at kahandaan, kasama ang transportasyon at komunikasyon, maging ang iba pang kailangan para sa kompetisyon.
Bubuo naman ang Cebu City ng Local Palaro Executive Committee (LPEC) and Secretariat, na maghahanap ng mga pondo para sa palaro, partikular na ang konstruksyon at renovation ng sports facilities, billeting quarters, at iba pang infrastructural requirements ng Palaro host. RNT/JGC
