MANILA, Philippines – Inihayag ni Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. nitong Miyerkules na mananatiling naka-alerto ang DND at lahat ng attached agencies at bureaus nito ngayong yuletide holidays upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng publiko.
“This holiday season, your DND and its attached agencies will continue to perform their duties to help ensure that you can enjoy the season safely,” pahayag ni Teodoro. Dagdag pa niya, “We will continue to be alert against all threats, whether natural or man-made.”
Kabilang sa mga attached agency ng DND ang Armed Forces of the Philippines, Office of the Civil Defense, Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, Government Arsenal, at National Defense College of the Philippines.
Nanawagan din si Teodoro ng suporta ng publiko habang isinasailalim sa mahalagang pagbabago ang kagawaran upang higit na mapalakas ang kakayahan nito. “We hope and pray for your support in order to ensure that our organization is transformed into a modern, adaptive, and capable organization in all facets essential to exercising its mandate,” aniya.
Nagpasalamat din ang kalihim sa mga tauhan ng militar at depensa sa kanilang sakripisyo at tiniyak na aalagaan ang kanilang mga pamilya. Nagpaabot din siya ng panalangin para sa mga biktima ng kalamidad. “We pray for the victims of this year’s calamities, both here and abroad, and resolve to work harder in order to help prevent the same from recurring.
