MANILA, Philippines – Pinalaya na mula sa kustodiya ng pulisya ang driver na nabagsakan ng estudyanteng nahulog mula sa LRT-1 Fernando Poe Jr. Station, ayon sa Quezon City Police District (QCPD) nitong Huwebes.
Naganap ang insidente noong Miyerkules ng umaga nang mahulog ang 23-anyos na estudyante mula sa plataporma ng LRT-1 Fernando Poe Jr. Station at tumama sa sasakyang bumibiyahe sa northbound lane ng Epifanio delos Santos Avenue.
“The father executed a notarized letter manifesting that he is not pursuing a complaint against the driver. Thereafter, the driver was released from the custody of Traffic Sector 6 at 4:10 p.m. today, Feb. 12, 2026,” ayon sa QCPD.
Dagdag pa nito, “Initial investigation and CCTV (closed circuit television) review show no apparent indication of negligence on the part of the driver.”
Nauna nang sinabi ng pulisya na isinailalim sa kustodiya ang driver alinsunod sa standard procedures ng Philippine National Police kapag may nasasangkot na pagkamatay.
Nagpaabot ng pakikiramay ang QCPD sa pamilya ng biktima at iginiit na magsasagawa ito ng “fair, impartial and transparent” na imbestigasyon sa insidente. Santi Celario
