MANILA, Philippines – Magsisimula nang tumanggap ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ng aplikasyon para sa government internship program (GIP) mula Mayo 19 hanggang May 21, 2025.
Ayon sa DSWD, ang mga estudyante sa kolehiyo edad 18 hanggang 25, o mga paparating na third at fourth year students, ay maaaring mag-apply sa internship program.
Nasa kabuuang 75 slots ang bubuksan para sa bawat DSWD field office, habang 35 slots naman ang sa DSWD central office.
“This is an opportunity for college students to learn life skills in the workplace and at the same time earn money to defray their school expenses,” pahayag ni DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao.
Sinabi rin ng ahensya na ang monthly family income ng aplikante ay hindi dapat lalampas sa
latest regional poverty threshold ng Philippine Statistics Authority.
Ang mga matagumpay na aplikante ay makakatanggap ng stipend na katumbas ng 75 percent ng November 2022 regional minimum wage at magtatrabaho sila sa loob ng 30 araw.
Ipatutupad ng DSWD ang naturang programa ngayong bakasyon, kung saan sinabi ni Dumlao na ang mga intern “assigned to the DSWD central office will engage in tasks such as administrative works, recording and tracking of incoming and outgoing documents, liaising with other bureaus or offices, photocopying of documents and encoding of reports, among others.”
Samantala, ang mga partisipantes na manggagaling sa field offices ay tutulong sa operasyon ng mga regional office ng DSWD. RNT/JGC
