Embahada sa Saudi Arabia: ‘Di nabayarang sahod ng OFWs ibigay na

RIYADH- Sinabi ng Philippine Embassy sa Riyadh na patuloy nitong igigiit sa Saudi Arabian government ang isyu ng hindi nabayarang sahod ng libo-libong overseas Filipino workers na nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa 2015 economic crisis.

Noong Hulyo, sinabi ni Philippine Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac na nakapagpalabas pa lamang ang Kingdom ng P1.95 bilyon sa 2,500 manggagawa na nawalan ng trabaho nang ma-bankrupt ang mga pinagtatrabahuhan nilang Arab companies.

Base sa tala ng Department of Migrant Workers, may kabuuang 10,554 OFWs ang apektado.

“We hope that the process would be fast tracked so that more of our kababayans can receive what is due them after years of waiting because mainly of litigation,” pahayag ni Philippine Consul Dean Jason Arriola.

“We always get in touch with them pagdating dito sa concern na ito just to make sure that they are aware that this is a significant concern for us,” dagdag niya.

“Para ding sa atin yan. If there are claims being processed by the government at tsaka mataas yung volume, it can take some time for it to be processed.”

Iginiit naman ng opisyal na mayroong commitment mula sa Saudi Arabian government na resolbahin ang isyu. RNT/SA
