Inanunsyo ng Presidential Communications Office ang appointment ni Guilas bilang Undersecretary ng Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs.

Sa isang post sa kanyang opisyal na Facebook page, sinabi ni Guilas na magsisilbi siya bilang Undersecretary for Strategic Partnerships and Engagements ng Marcos administration.
“I always had it in my heart to serve the people through the government as a way of giving back to the taxpayers who gave me the means to finish my education. I am, after all, a product of the public school system,” ani Guilas.
