MANILA, Philippines – Nasawi ang isang forest ranger ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) habang isinasagawa ang trabaho nito, sa Lipa City, Batangas noong Huwebes, Agosto 13.
Si Forest Ranger Raymond John Lara ay nagsasagawa ng LAWIN (Landscape and Wildlife Indicator System) patrol kasama ang mga kasamahan sa isang forest conservation area sa Barangay Talisay nang bigla itong mawalan ng malay at mag-collapse.
Isinugod si Lara sa Metro Lipa Hospital para sa emergency treatment ngunit kalaunan ay namatay.
Ayon sa doktor, ang kanyang pagkamatay ay dahil sa heart failure.
Bago ang pagkamatay, si Lara ay nakatalaga sa Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) sa Lipa City.
“The entire DENR Calabarzon family extends its deepest condolences on the sudden passing of our colleague, Forest Ranger Raymond John M. Lara,” sinabi ng ahensya sa post sa Facebook page nito.
Naging regular na empleyado ito ng DENR noong Hunyo 202 matapos ang 11 taon ng serbisyo bilang contract-of-service worker sa Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) sa Batangas.
Ang Project LAWIN ay isang forest at biodiversity protection system na naka-disenyo para imonitor, protektahan, panatilihin, at gamitin nang tama at pangasiwaan ang forest at biological resources ng bansa. RNT/JGC
