“Credible information received by the family from hospital sources reveals that Former President Duterte had to be subjected to laboratory tests after being found unconscious on the floor of his room,” saad sa pahayag ni VP Sara.

“The family was not informed of the ‘accident’ and no explanation was given. These alarming developments raise grave concerns about the capacity of the ICC to guarantee the security and safety of FPRRD.”

“If the ICC is to remain true to its mandate as a court of justice, it cannot turn a blind eye to the health and wellness condition of FPRRD,” sinabi pa ni Duterte.

“To deprive an elderly man — abducted, denied his rights under Philippine law, and subjected to surveillance disguised as ‘welfare checks’ — of basic dignity and proper care is not justice. This is cruelty.”

“The Philippine Government’s admission that a so-called ‘welfare check’ was surreptitiously conducted confirms that the ICC has allowed agents of the government that abducted Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to intrude upon him and exploit his frail and compromised health. This is nothing less than an abuse of power against a vulnerable individual,” ayon pa sa Bise Presidente.

“Such visits, if any, are strictly conducted with the approval or at the request of the person in detention,” dagdag pa.

“It can be underscored that the consular visit was made by career consular officials of the Embassy in a professional, nonintrusive and respectful manner, and not by any other supposed ‘agents of the government’,” ayon pa sa DFA.

“As to an alleged recent incident pertaining to the former President’s health condition, the Philippine Government has no information on such matter, and inquiries about it are best referred to the ICC Spokesperson.”

Wala namang tugon ang ICC kaugnay dito. RNT/JGC
