MANILA, Philippines – Tiniyak ng Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) ang suporta nito sa transparency at accountability kaugnay ng pamumuhunan nito sa DigiPlus Interactive Corp., at nangakong makikipagtulungan sa mga kaukulang ahensiya.
“We welcome the scrutiny and call for public disclosure from various sectors, and we are prepared to present all relevant documents and data to the appropriate authorities,” pahayag ng GSIS. “As stewards of public trust, we affirm our unwavering commitment to act in the best interests of our members and pensioners.”
Ang pahayag ng GSIS ay bunsod ng isiniwalat ni Senator Risa Hontiveros na pamumuhunan nito ng P1 bilyon sa online gambling platform.
Sa kanyang privileged speech nitong Martes, sinabi ni Hontiveros na namuhunan ang GSIS, sa pamumuno ni suspended GSIS President Jose Arnulfo “Wick” Veloso, sa DigiPlus nang pumalo sa P65.30 ang bawat sapi ng online gambling platform.
“Those shares have since hit a low of P13.68. Lugi na,” ayon sa senador.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ng GSIS, na nananatiling matatag ang Social Insurance Fund nito, na may kabuuang assets na ₱1.88 trilyon noong Hunyo 2025 at net operating income na ₱76.82 bilyon—mas mataas ng 31 porsiyento kumpara noong nakaraang taon. Iniulat din nito ang 6.75 porsiyentong limang taong average return sa mga investment.
Aminado ang GSIS na kailangang patuloy na makamit ang tiwala ng publiko, kaya’t magsasagawa ito ng malawakang pagsusuri sa charter nito, investment policies, risk thresholds, at sectoral guidelines, lalo na sa mga sensitibo o high-risk na industriya.
