MANILA, Philippines – Aabot sa halos 1,000 aktibo at retiradong kawani ng Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) ang haharap sa kasong kriminal dahil sa umano’y mga anomalya sa ahensya, ayon kay Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
Sa isang press briefing nitong Huwebes, sinabi ni Remulla na magsasampa sila ng kaso laban kay BFP chief Jesus Fernandez, sa kanyang mga deputy, at sa mga miyembro ng Bids and Awards Committee (BAC).
“I will be filing charges against the chief of the BFP, Jesus Fernandez, also to his deputies, also the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC),” ayon kay Remulla.
“Director Fernandez, before becoming chief of the BFP, was head of the procuring entity. He was the head of BAC.”
Sinabi rin ni Remulla na hihilingin niya kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na palitan si Fernandez.
Dagdag niya, target na maisampa ang mga kaso sa susunod na linggo. Ang BFP ay nasa ilalim ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
“Our case build-up is complete, we should be ready to file cases against the Bids and Awards Committee from 2014 to 2025 for bid rigging. We are ready. What we have, our proof, is solid,” ani Remulla.
Ayon sa kanya, karamihan sa mga sangkot ay mula sa Metro Manila, bagama’t may mga tauhan din mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa.
“Maybe it will be almost a thousand (BFP personnel), that’s the whole Philippines. We saw it. In the backtracking of our DILG regional offices, we saw their modus operandi,” dagdag niya.
Inihayag din ni Remulla na naghahanda na ang DILG ng kasong administratibo laban sa buong BFP unit sa Silang, Cavite, dahil sa umano’y money-making racket.
“The entire organization has been affected. So, it will take time bago maayos natin ito (before we can fix this). But, slowly, we’re getting there,” ayon kay Remulla. Santi Celario
