MANILA, Philippines – Bilang paggunita ng National Heroes Day (Araw ng mga Bayani), nagbigay-pugay si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa mga “heroic individuals” ng bansa gaya ng mga magsasaka, mangingisda, guro, sundalo at mga tagapag-patupad ng batas, bukod sa iba pa.
Sa isang mensahe, binigyang diin ni Pangulong Marcos na ang nation-building ay isang “constant and unrelenting endeavor and that heroes and heroines are needed throughout the life of a country.”
“We are fortunate that the Inang Bayan continuously gives rise to heroic individuals best exemplified by our farmers, fisherfolk, workers, teachers, soldiers, law enforcers, scientists, and countless ordinary men and women who, in extraordinary ways, fulfill their duties. On this occasion, we extend our deepest gratitude and highest regard,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.
Nanawagan din si Pangulong Marcos sa buong bansa na gunitain ang nasabing okasyon, ipagbunyi ang buhay ng mga filipino at mga filipina na nag-alay ng kanilang buhay para sa bayan.
“Guided by conviction that arises from a deep love for country, they ventured into the fires of struggle through which their heroic legacy and the destiny of our nation were forged,”aniya pa rin.
“Their sacrifice becomes the act through which the soul affirms its highest calling and the nation discovers its moral shape,” ang sinabi pa rin ni Pangulong Marcos.
Samantala, hinikayat naman ng Pangulo ang publiko na ipakita ang kanilang pagiging makabayan sa pamamagitan ng ‘acts of genuine service’ sa mga tao.
“Through simple but meaningful acts of compassion to our brothers and sisters, we can be our generation’s heroes, bringing forth the Bagong Pilipinas we aspire,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos. /Kris Jose
