MANILA, Philippines – Hindi matitinag at hindi magbabago ang estratehiyang House prosecution kahit personal na dumalo si Vice President Sara Duterte sa Senate impeachment trial, ayon kay Trial Spokesperson at House Prosecution Adviser Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers, at Atty. Jay Tolosa, Jr. Legal Spokesperson at Counsel ng House prosecution
Ayon kay Barbers, matagal nang inihanda ng panel ang kanilang sarili para sa evidentiary phase ng paglilitis kaya magpapatuloy sila sa plano anuman ang mangyari sa courtroom.
“As we always say and always state that the prosecution team is prepared to do their direct examination sa witnesses at mga ebidensyang inilatag So kahit sinong umattend, wala naman pong epekto yan sa pag-conduct ng direct examination doon sa ating witnesses,” reaksyon ni Barbers ukol sa posibilidad na dumalo si VP Duterte sa paglilitis.
Giit ni Barbers, mas mabuti na dumalo si Duterte upang tuluyan nang marinig ng publiko ang sagot nito sa mga alegasyong nakasaad sa Articles of Impeachment.
Samantala, sinabi naman ni Atty. Benjamin Tolosa Jr., na hindi magbabago ang estratehiya ng prosecution dumalo man o hindi si Duterte sa harap ng impeachment court.
“Again, regardless of who will be there, respondent or anyone else, the strategy of the prosecution remains the same, that we’ll present evidence in a proper and efficient and effective manner,” sabi ni Tolosa.
“At the very least, this will show that she’s finally heeding the call of the people, asking her to show respect to the constitutional process and to the impeachment court by facing these charges in person, and letting the people hear how she will answer these serious allegations,” dagdag ni Tolosa.
Sa kanyang bahagi, sinabi ni House prosecution spokesperson at Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong na matagal nang panawagan ng taumbayan na pumunta si VP Duterte sa kanyang trial.
Itinaggi din ni Adiing na matatakot o ma-intimidate ang mga tagausig kung dadalo si Duterte sa paglilitis.
“Nobody gets intimidated. Ang pinag-uusapan dito ‘yung proseso ng trial, ‘yung pananagutan ng trial. Ang pinag-uusapan po rito ay paano ilatag ang proseso, paano ilatag ang kaso, paano sagutin ang kaso.” giit nito.
